Living Before God Our Father
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be Holy, for I am Holy."

Senior Pastor - Rev. Dr. Ernest M. Coppage, Sr.

  1. Matthew 16:18
“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will Build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it”
Rev. Dr. Ernest M. Coppage, Sr. is a born-again believer who accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Baltimore’s Dunbar High School in 1985 after which he served in the United States Marine Corps. He is also a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He is a highly decorated police officer who worked in law enforcement for 30 years in Baltimore, MD before retiring to move Danville, Virginia where God has a greater work for him to do.
He accepted his call to the Gospel ministry at Nazarene Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. James J. Thompson. He was ordained in 2015 under Rev. Dr. Alvin J. Gwynn, Jr. at the Historic Leadenhall Baptist Church of south Baltimore. Dr. Coppage believes that no matter what service Christ calls one into, we are better suited to serve when educated about the truth found in the Word of God.
His educational journey includes being a 2014 Graduate of Liberty University with a B.S. Criminal Justice (Summa Cum Laude). After which he entered HU graduating in 2017 from the Howard University School of Divinity with a Master of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Studies (Magna Cum Laude). Entering VUU in 2017 he graduated in 2020 from the Virginia Union University Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of theology Doctoral Program (Summa Cum Laude). He researched how the church might become a more viable participant in the reshaping of our police and African American communities.
Dr. Coppage is also a certified instructor with the United Baptist Missionary Convention USA Inc. He believes that the Word of God should be delivered clearly enough so that the recipient is able to apply it to their life until they are transformed unto what God desires for all Christians to be “God loving, Christ centered, and Holy Spirit empowered unto all good works for the Lord.” His favorite saying is “There is Truth to Speak / Truth to Power in Change” in the Gospel. Dr. Coppage's favorite scripture is centered around helping people understand where they fit into God's building plan for Kingdom's sake. He is married to the lovely Yolanda "Kearney" Coppage of Baltimore, MD; they have 6 children and 7 grandchildren between them.
Dr. Coppage is a published author and a Chaplain with the Danville Police Department.
